Tanztheater gets explained
This video is a short, concise introduction to Tanztheater and its origins. It contains interviews and many excerpts of important productions. The origins of Tanztheater in the expressionist works of Wigman and Jooss, and the aftermath of WWII are explained, as well as the differences between current practitioners' works and philosophies (Bausch, Linke, et al). Good for teachers and those interested in Tanztheater but were too afraid to ask anyone what it means. Also, good for those who want to analyze these works from choreological or dance analysis perspectives. Only complaint: excerpts too short!
